A pair of professionally framed book covers, being the front boards of two publisher's bindings (brown cloth embossed and gilt) lettered "FAUST VON GOETHE I" and "FAUST VON GOETHE II." Frame size 46 x 37 cm. Cloth with some minor blemishes and signs of age, but overall an attractive and desirable set, framed by Logos of Lockhart. Very good. Item #4036

TWO REMARKABLE 19TH-CENTURY GERMAN "SOMBRE" PUBLISHER'S BINDINGS, ADMIRABLY FRAMED AND SUITABLE FOR DISPLAY IN AN ELEGANT ENVIRONMENT. The publisher of this particular edition of Faust has resisted identification; nonetheless, we have greatly enjoyed having these framed "book objects" adorn our parlor; it is now time to pass them along to a future owner who admires Goethe as much as we do.
