Item #2376
Priced, interleaved, and profusely annotated copy that almost certainly belonged to the auctioneer or expert, in which are listed on the interleaved sheets the bids (in code) that were received. Emile Egger (1813-1885), eminent French philologist and Hellenist, was the author of the very successful "Histoire du livre depuis ses origines jusqu'a nos jours" which was first published by Hetzel in 1880 and went through several editions. Highly curious.
