STILL UNSURPASSED, CONTAINING "TEXTS OF A LARGE NUMBER OF IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS FOR 16TH CENTURY MEXICO: viceregal orders, reports on individuals and towns, testimonies, letters, and other types of documentation on a variety of subjects." (Griffin 2305).
An extraordinary collection of documents transcribed by Francisco del Paso y Troncoso during his stay in Europe, especially from the Archivo de Indias in Seville. The documents cover various topics related to New Spain: bibliography, geography and statistics, historical works and linguistics. When Francisco del Paso y Troncoso died in 1916, his original manuscripts were left truncated and unpublished. They were brought from Spain and their rights were assigned for the preparation of this edition.
Palau 214272. "One of the principal collections of letters and other documents dealing with a variety of subjects." (Glass, pp. 671-672).
