While technically a "bookseller's catalogue," the level of scholarship in this volume rivals or exceeds many academic publications on the same subject. There are very thorough descriptions of 245 fifteenth-century books from 106 different presses. Of these, 99 are from German-speaking towns: Strassburg is the best represented, with 45 incunables from 16 different presses. The catalogue boasts many highlights, including three fine Strassburg Bibles, and a spectacular Cicero PRINTED ON VELLUM by Fust and Schoffer in 1466 (no. 57 = DM 75,000).
