¶ Scarce, well illustrated catalogue, published under the auspices of the Centre for Neohellenic Research, National Hellenic Research Foundation. As the title indicates, the present work provides a detailed assessment of the incunables in the NL of Greece. The work expands on the research undertaken by Legrand ("Bibliographie Hellenique," 4 vols., 1885-1906) and Dennis Rhodes ("Incunabula in Greece" 1980). It is of the greatest interest that detailed collations of each edition are provided, as well as provenance information. Descriptions of the books follow the language of the publication, to wit: Latin titles and non-Greek names are transcribed in Roman letters; Greek titles in Greek, as are the descriptions. For obvious reasons the NL of Greece holds an extremely important collection of Greek incunables, and thus the present work is an essential reference tool for all who are involved with such. Certainly, Kokkonas writes with authority, having served as professor in the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museumology, Ionian University, and as a librarian at the National Library of Greece.
