The Rouses provide substantial evidence that certain 15th-century Italian paper dealers were also involved in the illumination of various printed books, partiularly those from the press of S. Jacopo di Ripoli. As an Appendix, the Rouses give a list of 101 titles from this press. Following is a catalogue of an Exhibition of Illumination and Decoration in Early Printed Books in the Libraries of the UCLA (41 items described). Altogether the work is illustrated with 26 plates. Unlike other copies currently on the market, ours is preserved in excellent condition.
