¶ Beauty in unexpected places. For years we have been devotees of chromolithograph brush catalogues. The earliest chromolitho brush catalogues we've seen (mostly European and a few English) date from ca. 1900. For obvious reasons WWII drastically reduced publications of elaborate and expensively produced catalogues. Here the Vereinigte Pinsel-Fabriken offers a wide array of brushes for artists, decorators and trademen and women, as as well brushes for domestic use (i.e. shaving brushes). At the end of the catalogue are offered some palette knives, combs, and burnishing tools. The year 1922 was at the zenith of hyperinflation of the Weimar Republic, and thus it is not surprising that the present Vereinigte catalogue is not priced (!) -- the Vereinigte Pinsel-Fabriken still operates in Nurnberg under the umbrella of Leonhardy-VP (Vereinigte Pinselfabriken).
